DNS.Business currently provides the core back-end registry systems and related technical support services for several registries in Africa and Europe.

ZACR NPC
DNS Africa Ltd serves as the technical Registry Service Provider (RSP) for the ZA Central Registry (ZACR), delivering a complete, full-service registry solution for South Africa’s three major city geographic top-level domains: .capetown, .durban, and .joburg. Through this partnership, DNS Africa powers the entire backend infrastructure for these geo-TLDs, including the EPP platform, DNS, DNSSEC, billing, and registrar services. These domains allow businesses, organisations, and residents of Cape Town, Durban, and Johannesburg to use shorter, more relevant, and locally branded web addresses. ZACR NPC, as the registry operator, works closely with DNS Africa to ensure the stable and secure operation of these city-focused namespaces, which play an important role in promoting South Africa’s major metropolitan regions on the global internet. This collaboration further strengthens DNS Africa’s position as the leading provider of registry technology for both ccTLDs and geographic gTLDs in South Africa. (https://zacities.africa)

ZADNA NPC
DNS Africa Ltd provides its advanced rEngin™ registry solution to the ZA Domain Name Authority (ZADNA NPC), the official regulator and administrator of the .za country code top-level domain (ccTLD). Through rEngin™, ZADNA maintains full regulatory control and oversight of the entire .za namespace while benefiting from a modern, secure, and scalable technical platform. This includes policy enforcement, zone management, monitoring, and other critical registry functions. As the governing body responsible for South Africa’s digital identity on the internet, ZADNA’s use of DNS Africa’s rEngin™ solution ensures that .za remains stable, secure, and fully aligned with national interests and international best practices. This partnership underscores DNS Africa’s ability to deliver flexible, regulator-focused registry technology that supports sovereign control over critical national domain infrastructure. RYCE GMBH
DNS Africa and the Compass Group in Austria have formed a joint venture company, RyCE GmbH (Registry Central Europe), to deliver advanced registry services to European-based Registry Operators. Through this strategic partnership, RyCE powers several prominent new generic top-level domains (gTLDs) in Europe, most notably .koeln, .cologne, .wien, and .tirol. The joint venture combines DNS Africa’s modern registry technology platform with the Compass Group’s strong European market knowledge and operational expertise. This enables RyCE to offer highly reliable, secure, and compliant registry backend services tailored to the needs of European city and regional brand TLDs. TENET
DNS Africa Ltd provides the advanced Shared Registry System (SRS) and technical backend for .ac.za, South Africa’s prestigious academic and research domain. TENET (the Tertiary Education and Research Network of South Africa) serves as the Administrator, Registry Operator, Moderator, and sole Registrar of the .ac.za namespace under authority from the .za Domain Name Authority (ZADNA). TENET migrated .ac.za to DNS Africa’s Gateway SRS to replace its outdated in-house registry system. The decision was driven by two main factors: the need for a modern, scalable, and reliable platform, and the ability to implement robust DNSSEC security enhancements for the .ac.za zone. As South Africa’s primary domain for universities, research institutions, and higher education entities, .ac.za plays a vital role in the country’s academic and scientific internet infrastructure. DNS Africa’s platform powers registration services, zone management, and enhanced security for this important namespace. This partnership underscores DNS Africa’s growing capability in delivering secure, modern registry solutions to critical national and sector-specific domains in Africa. (https://www.tenet.ac.za/)

ZA Registry Consortium
ZARC is the contracted registry operator responsible for South Africa’s four major commercial second-level domains (SLDs) under the .za ccTLD: .co.za, .org.za, .net.za, and .web.za. Together, these namespaces represent the vast majority of South Africa’s domain registrations and form the backbone of the country’s digital economy. As the provider of the core backend registry systems (including EPP platform, DNS, DNSSEC, and related infrastructure), DNS Africa powers the stable, secure, and scalable operation of these high-volume domains. With well over 1.4 million domains under management, this partnership ensures reliable performance for businesses, organisations, and individuals across South Africa. This long-standing collaboration highlights DNS Africa’s deep expertise in both ccTLD and gTLD environments and reinforces its position as the leading African registry technology provider supporting critical national internet infrastructure. SAIIPL
DNS Africa Ltd has been contracted by the South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law (SAIIPL) to provide and administer the technical platform for South Africa’s domain name dispute resolution system. Through the dedicated portal DomainDisputes.co.za, DNS Africa delivers the full online infrastructure supporting the ZA Alternative Dispute Resolution Process (ZAADRP). This includes case filing, document management, panelist assignment, decision publication, and administrative workflow for disputes relating to the .za second-level domains (.co.za, .org.za, .net.za, and .web.za). SAIIPL is one of only two accredited dispute resolution providers under the .za Alternate Dispute Resolution Regulations. As a highly respected body representing intellectual property professionals, SAIIPL offers impartial, efficient adjudication of abusive or infringing domain registrations — typically resolving cases within two months through an expedited online process. This partnership demonstrates DNS Africa’s expanding role beyond core registry operations into critical supporting services that strengthen trust, rights protection, and governance in the South African domain namespace. DNS Africa Ltd has been appointed as the technical backend Registry Service Provider (RSP) for the .merck generic top-level domain (gTLD).
As the first new namespace added to the internet’s root since 2022, .merck marks a significant milestone in the expansion of the Domain Name System. The TLD is now live and resolving, with DNS Africa powering its stable and secure technical operations.
